India will contribute $500,000 to a UN rapid response funding mechanism for the 2015-16 period to support global humanitarian relief operations. India has definitely been in the forefront of the humanitarian actions in the recent years. India had contributed $10 million to the Ebola Trust Fund and had helped in evacuating indians and many foreign nationals from war torn Yemen in 2015. The relief and rescue work done by India in the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake was also commendable . PTI
