25 CHILDREN TO BE FELICITATED WITH THE NATIONAL BRAVERY AWARD.

Twenty five children , three girls and 22 boys , were felicitated with the National Awards for Bravery  by the Indian Council for Child Welfare in New Delhi on Monday afternoon . The children will  receive their awards from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 26th January and will also get a chance to participate in the Republic Day parade .
One of the children was Gaurav Kawduji Sahastrbuddhe , who had jumped into the Ambazari lake in Nagpur district when he spotted four children drowning . He managed to save all of them but couldn't save himself . His body was later recovered by the fishermen . A teary eyed Rekha Sahastrabuddhe climbed the stage with a photo frame of Gaurav when his name was called out . He is one of the two posthumous awardees of the National Bravery Award.
The courageous acts of these children are as diverse as their backgrounds . Ruchita Goud was felicitated with the Geeta Chopra award for her quick thinking and courage . She had saved the life of her two friends in the Masaipet train-bus mishap in which a passenger train had rammed into a school bus . Ruchita , on seeing the train had pushed Varun , her brother and also another friend from the window , but failed to rescue her sister Shruthi , who was in the bus .
