'JAHAR KHAU NAKA' (don't consume poison) , is a play , being performed by 14 children of farmers who committed suicide recently . These children currently live under the acre of Nashik-based Adhartirth Adharshram orphanage .Through the play , they will be showing the farmers , the tragic turns their life took after their parents committed suicide . For this , they will be visiting the districts of Maharashtra which are worst affected by the drought .
The children will also be meeting CM Devendra Fadnavis on 24th January and perform the play in front of him which will mark the end of their state-wide performance . It is a minimalistic play with no major props or designs or stage demands . It will be performed outside most tehsildar offices because debt-ridden farmers interact with these government authorities on a regular basis .
The vehicles carrying the cast and property flash unique banners , one of which reads," If an African of mixed descent who lost his father at an early age can become the President of the US ; if a newspaper delivery boy can become the President of India and a dalit can write the country's constitution , there is a reason to hold on to your precious lives ..... Dear farmers , Jahar Khau Naka."
